- Description
Maximiliano Garcia and his wife, Esperanza, are first-generation coffee producers from the village of El Huabo, in San Ignacio.
Their farm, Garmas, is composed of several carefully managed plots, where Maximiliano and Esperanza Garcia skillfully cultivate a rich diversity of coffee varieties, including Caturra, Catuai, Bourbon, Marsellesa, Parainema, and Geisha.
In the 1960s, Geisha was distributed throughout Panama due to its resistance to coffee leaf rust, although its brittle branches limited widespread adoption. Although it originated in Ethiopia and gained popularity in Panama, the Geisha variety has found a special place in Peruvian coffee and thrives in its unique climate and fertile soils.
Maximiliano and Esperanza treat each variety with precision and an in-depth understanding of their land. The couple's farm has earned a reputation for excellence and is celebrated not only for the exceptional flavor profiles their coffees produce, but also for the unwavering attention to detail and sustainable practices that define its production, from seed to cup.
With notes of peach, white flowers, honey, and green tea, this coffee exhibits malic acidity and a delicate body.
