El Huabal is an iconic terroir for Peruvian specialty coffee. Its volcanic soil and unique humid, temperate climate create ideal conditions for growing high-quality Arabica. Producers cultivate traditional varieties, such as Typica, Caturra, and Bourbon, favoring natural shade for slow and even cherry growth. El Huabal coffees are distinguished by their delicate cup, vibrant acidity, and floral, citrus, and tropical fruit notes.

This washed coffee comes from Café Solidario, a cooperative created in 2017 to bring together 85 producers around a common goal: promoting sustainable practices and better living conditions. It now has 255 members spread across Jaén, San Ignacio, and Cutervo. Its mission is to manage and market traceable coffee while fostering sustainable development and responsible agriculture. Guided by the principles of solidarity, fairness, environmental responsibility, and community engagement, it maintains certifications and aims to be recognized nationally and internationally for its excellence and exemplary governance by 2027.

El Huabal's coffees undergo a waterless fermentation process to enhance the complexity of their aromas. It begins with a first fermentation of the cherries lasting 15 to 18 hours. After pulping, the coffee undergoes a second fermentation of 40 to 48 hours. This process gives the coffee a perfect balance, harmonious acidity, and exceptionally refined aromas.

This coffee offers a delicate roundness and notes of milk chocolate in espresso, and intense citrus and cherry aromas in pour over.
