In its 43rd issue, Like the Wind focuses on the unifying power of running. While it can be a solitary activity, it lends itself well to the company of others—as a vehicle for connection, friendship, and community. Even a seemingly solitary running effort is buoyed by the cheers of strangers from the curb.

Across 130 creatively illustrated pages, we share the stories of runners from around the world: a race that united East and West Germany, the search for peace among the Joshua trees of the Mojave Desert, and the women taking up space in the dark alleys of the United Kingdom.

We investigate topics that are currently affecting runners, such as athletes who are disqualified due to the minutiae of the rules, without second chances, and how being autistic can affect a runner's experience.
