The Danche washing station is located in Chelbesa, Gedeb. This station belongs to SNAP Coffee and works with approximately 400 smallholder farmers who grow coffee on small plots situated between 2,000 and 2,300 meters above sea level. SNAP builds long-term relationships with producers through agronomic support, quality-driven purchasing, and ongoing training, helping farmers improve both cultivation and processing while strengthening their access to the specialty coffee market.
This coffee is produced using certified organic practices, promoting soil health and biodiversity while reducing reliance on synthetic inputs. SNAP also encourages waste recycling at its stations, while traditional drying on raised beds, inherent to the natural process, uses sunlight and air circulation rather than energy-intensive methods. Beyond coffee, SNAP invests in local communities by providing school supplies, improving the road network, and planning the construction of healthcare facilities, creating a broader and more sustainable impact for farming families throughout the Gedeo region.
The result is a coffee full of life, with sweet fruity notes and floral aromas, of remarkable depth, where notes of red berry jam, violet, and milk chocolate intertwine.
