Like the Wind | Issue 45
- Description
Every step counts
Issue 45 of Like the Wind celebrates the richness and diversity of the running world, from creative expression and community to the embodied joy of movement. It looks at the future of our sport as climate change affects runners around the world—from canceled races to heatwaves, but also a future that athletes, race directors, and activists are fighting for. As Zoë Rom says in her in-depth article, “Despair is easy. Hope, on the other hand [...] requires us to show up again and again and commit to action.” Just like running itself.
Across 130 pages, illustrated in Like the Wind's signature style with bespoke drawings and photography, this issue captures the soul, dedication, and spontaneity of runners around the world. In this issue, we run the Hood to Coast Relay as one of 12 Olivias, explore Britain's old borders, embrace the absurdity of a doughnut mile , and find rhythm through haiku. As our editor Alex Roddie writes in the foreword, "I'll never tire of reading runners' stories."
